Don’t lose hope if you have not been successful in volunteering ideas for World Earth Day. A few great environment-friendly activities have been listed down for your consideration. They will remind you as to why it is wonderful to spend time on this planet. Actually, the Earth Day should be celebrated every day. We do sincerely hope that you will do at least one of the activities listed here on April 22 along with the millions from around the world to make a difference.

Garden Work

Do some digging either in your garden or involve in Earth Day volunteering activity in a community garden. If you have not touched the earth with your hands for a long time now, Earth Day is the best time to do it. As you dig the earth, you will realize the extent of our dependence on the planet when it comes to our survival. Finding a community garden is easy. Just do a search on Google. It is a great way to meet a few new people like you that love the earth.

Home Energy Conservation

If you live in your own home, do an energy audit. This is a great way to express your love for the planet. In most parts of the world fossil fuels are still being used for generating power. If you are consuming a lot of energy because of construction anomalies, your carbon footprint may be on the higher side. You can seek help from experts and make a difference. This will help you to get rid of the guilty feeling that you may have. The experts will guide you on what you can do to improve the energy efficiency.

Remove Clutter and Give Them Away

It takes a lot of water and energy to produce new clothes. On this Earth Day, you can give away those clothes that you have not used for a long time some people who don’t have the means to buy better clothing. On one hand, you will get rid of clutter. On the other, the people that receive the sparingly used clothing will be thankful to you forever.

Plant Trees

The best way to give back to the mother earth is by planting trees. It is the building up of carbon dioxide and methane (greenhouse gases) that cause global warming. As the trees consume carbon dioxide during photosynthesis, the greenhouse effect reduces. When we plant more trees, we make the planet a better place to live.

Environmental Charity

On the Earth Day, partake in some environmental charity activity. Google and find out some environmental volunteering ideas. There are innumerable charities around the world that need to raise money for cleaning up rivers, conducting classes, and do some kind of earth-friendly work which will not last just for a day. The benefits will continue for a long time to come.
